A group of students gets intensive training and puts on a dazzling display at the conclusion of the course.
Confidence, one skill at a time
Students experience first-hand that the best results come from helping each other and not giving up. Every student engages at their own interest level, and mastering one new skill after another boosts confidence.
The project is very flexible: any number of children, from a few hours to several months. Practicing circus skills is a non-competitive, creative activity that never gets boring — there is always more to learn, and the longer you try, the better you get.
Project outline
- Instruction — skill stations, each run by an adult station boss. Quick demonstrations, then hands-on instruction in small groups. Kids are encouraged to invent creative ways to use the props.
- Rehearsal — participants pick their favorite acts and build routines for the show.
- The Show — complete with costumes, makeup and music, and a souvenir program listing every participant and act.
Requirements
1 adult per 10 students for groups up to 50 (2 per 10 for larger groups). Group size is limited by your space — usually about 40 students in an elementary school gym. We provide 2+ instructors and all show, stage, sound, costume and make-up equipment.
